Accountant You will be in charge over Minjeni’s accounting together with the director. We wish that you stay with us for one year or longer.
Construction projects Located in Shimbwe and Uru East
You will work together with local construction workers and this project is changing from time to time. Do you know how to build a roof, kitchen, house, paths etc. Then you are a person we are in big need of. You need to fundraise before you come here. The money you raised is the money you will need for the whole project. How long you will be working with us and what kind of work you can do is depending on your budget. You can make this project together with others or by yourself.
Diabetes project Located in Shimbwe
During 3 months you will visit local families in Shimbwe. During the visits you will check blood sugar level and give the family information about diabetes, nutrition, exercise etc. The result will be summarized in a report in where you also describe the reasons of your findings.
Many people can be a part of this project and that will help you to cover more families. But it is possible for you to do it on your own. During the home visits you will have a translator and a guide that helps you find your way. If you wish to visit more houses you can prolong your staying with us.

Health check-ups for animals Located in Shimbwe and Uru East
Minjeni has different projects where animals are involved. To care for the animals in the best possible way we need you to do health check-ups of all the animals in the different projects. You can read more about the projects at Ongoing activities. We also need you to have seminars for the project members to increase the knowledge and develop the projects.
In the end you will write a report on what common diseases the areas suffers from and also which resources that are needed to prevent this.
You need to fundraise before you start this project to get money for medicines or get medicines sanctioned to you.

Marketing Minjeni During your time with us we need you to make Minjeni visible as an organization and seek for sponsors and funds. It is a lot of own responsibility and we want you to stay at least 6 months.
Paralegal Located in Shimbwe and Uru East
During your time with us you will counsel women about women’s rights, economics etc. You will arrange and be in charge of seminars, workshops and other activities that you find helpful. Translators are available if needed. It is a lot of own responsibility and we want you to stay at least 3 month.

The projects of HIV, malaria and diabetes can be combined and make one big project. During 6 months you will visit local families in Shimbwe. During the home visits you will check for HIV, malaria, diabetes, also check blood pressure and inform the families about the different diseases, hygiene, nutrition and exercise. You will summarize your findings in a document that will be the ground for Minjenis health projects in Shimbwe.

Teach English Located in Shimbwe or Uru East
You will teach English to primary school students. If your Swahili is still in the learning stage you will have a translator with you during the lessons. This is also a great opportunity for you to learn Swahili. You will have four days of teaching every week, two in Shimbwe and two in Uru East. It is no set time for this project but we recommend you to stay at least 6 months.
